To our patients at Greater Rochester Internal Medicine,

As the COVID-19 crisis continues to escalate, we have taken steps, based upon guidelines from our government leaders and medical experts.

We aim to protect our patients, our dedicated and competent staff, and the general public, during these uncertain, rapidly changing and worrisome times.

We, your physicians, will continue to advocate and care for your medical needs, however we are offering an alternate option to face to face office visits. You may request a TeleMedicine visit where one of our physicians will contact you via phone or video chat (if available) if you are uncomfortable leaving your home. However, we would like to assure that we are following all guidelines to minimize risk of exposure to COVID-19 to ourselves and our patients. A face to face visit with a physician is the best way to have your medical concerns addressed. Rest assured, we are and will be here for you.

Please call the office if you would like to replace your scheduled office visit with a TeleMedicine visit. Insofar as we know, these services will be covered by your insurance carriers, in the same manner as office visits. (Co-Pays may be waived but deductibles are still in force. Contact your health insurer for specifics.)  This TeleMedicine benefit will NOT extend beyond the period of COVID-19 emergency crisis, as determined by the authorities.

These services are available only to patients with whom we have an active relationship.  Examples of ailments/concerns which may be addressed via TeleMedicine include, but are not exclusive of acute problems:

  • Respiratory illness

  • Muscle /Joint pain

  • Back pain

  • Urinary symptoms

  • Gastrointestinal symptoms

  • Test results

  • others.

We will work diligently to address each and every concern to the best of our abilities, within the context of the current situation.  Nonetheless, we ask that you be patient as there may be a two to four (2-4) hour response time. We will be scheduling these TeleMedicine appointments and provide you with a two (2) hours window of when to expect a call back. If you are interested in this service, please review the TeleMedicine Consent Form below.

Please remember to always call the office directly, during office hours or in case of an emergency.

Sincerely,

The Staff at Greater Rochester Internal Medicine
